Volunteer

We seek motivated, enthusiastic, and nurturing individuals to assist staff, teaching artists, and students in carrying out our mission!

  • The Classroom or Summer Camp Volunteer assists the art teacher by helping with set up, preparation of materials, and cleaning up (putting away supplies, washing tools, etc.) as well as helping children stay focused on the activity during the program. The volunteer works as a mentor, helping engage children in the activities by demonstration, and facilitating learning by encouraging students to watch and listen to instruction and make their own art, serving as a role model to help children learn and implement social, academic, and technical skills.

  • REACH seeks community members to assist in furthering its mission and growing its presence in the community through committee and board involvement:

    1. Board of Directors members are the “keepers of the mission” and provide oversight and support to REACH Staff. Member Directors are involved in strategic planning and fund development to give greater REACH to the mission! Include a link to the Board Member application here: Click Here

    2. Committee members assist and help advise the Board of Directors by meeting regularly to plan or address important areas of capacity-building including Facility, Fund Development, Marketing, and Event Planning.

  • REACH Event Volunteers are “ambassadors” for REACH. They help episodically rather than regularly and promote our programs at various events, assist event attendees with art-making activities, or get needed preparations, grounds, or facility work done during a work-day event. Some REACH Events include festivals, open houses, art unveilings, fundraisers, and other community events. Event volunteers help with set up and take down, as well as assist with art activities being offered to the public. Activities may include helping passers-by do a small take-home art activity, group art project, or art demonstrations to name a few. Group or work-day volunteers may serve by doing grounds or facility clean-up projects that involve weeding, planting, trash pick-up, wall painting, sorting, scrubbing, or light construction projects.

  • The administrative or facility volunteers help regularly, based on a schedule that works for them and for REACH, with “behind the scenes” activities that support REACH operations and facility upkeep. They help with such tasks as phone-calling, flyer distribution, event prep, data entry, mailings, gardening, grounds work, or facility maintenance. Volunteers with particular skills in IT may be called upon to assist with computer, software application, and website tasks.
