REACH Shirts Available for Purchase!

Show off your love for REACH Studio Art Center with one of our new t-shirts! We have the classic blue shirt available with REACH’s “drop in do art” slogan on the back as well as a variety of student designed shirts. Each of the five black and white T-shirts available in our store features a unique design by a participant in either our teen studio or by a members of the REACH Youth Council. Sales of these shirts will directly support the Youth Council--a committee of youth ages 15-23 that provides participants with an engaging leadership opportunity and a chance to help build the culture and future of REACH.

Thank you to the Community Foundation and the MACC New Leaders Grant for their ongoing support of the REACH Youth Council.

Neighborhood Camp - Aug 14-17

The first week in July REACH welcomed fifteen kids from our surrounding community to participate in the first of two Neighborhood Camps this summer. Campers were taught about fabric dying and printing by Executive Direct, Alice Brinkman, and painted driftwood collected from Lake Michigan as part of a community art project. The second Neighborhood Camp will take place August 14-17 from 1:30-3:30. This camp is generously underwritten by the Young Creatives Grant from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing and is free to children who reside in the REOTown, River Point, Moores River, and Fabulous Acres neighborhoods. Click here to pre-register for camp via email—walk-ins welcome!

Summer Camp

This summer, REACH has been buzzing with energy and filled with beautiful artwork created by our REACH campers. Summer camp at REACH provides an opportunity for youth to explore their creativity, learn about art techniques and practices, and have a fun afternoon with new friends.

Spots are still available for our Introduction to Cinematic Storytelling camp on July 24-28. Youth ages 14-18 are invited to join us for a five-day, filmmaking crash course, learning from professional filmmakers with experience writing, directing, and editing independent films both locally and nationally. This course will cover basic storytelling techniques and working in teams to write, direct and edit your own short film. If you’re interested in filmmaking and are looking for an opportunity to develop your skills, then please join us! Instructors: Kenneth Nelson Jr. and Brian Brinkman.

Click on the classes below to be added to the waitlist for one of our remaining summer camps. Spots often become available closer to camp dates, and we would love for you to join us!
