Teen Open Studio

Teen Open Studio is a youth-driven, after school and summer art program for Lansing Areatoscapsmap Teens. TOS provides youth participants with opportunities to explore a variety of artistic media with local artists, volunteer mentors, and peers. Teens develop skills in art-making, management, collaboration, and professionalism as they work on public art projects as well as individual portfolios. Teens are encouraged to commit to at least one semester of the program – which gives them the opportunity to bond with fellow TOS participants and see projects through to completion. REACH Teens have installed permanent sculptures at Potter Park Zoo, helped film a monthly tv show, painted murals for other organizations, mounted their own photography exhibit, sold their art at art fairs and shows, created on-line portfolios of their work, and many more exciting projects.
