session fees:

Two hour session for repeat student..………………………...10.00*
*$15 for first session if you’re new to OCS, but have had instruction in clay.

*If you have not had clay instruction: $20 for first session, $15 for each of next 3 sessions,
$10 per session after your first 4 sessions.

family price after initial visits (1 adult w/ 1 or 2 children in the same household under 18)…15.00*
$5.00 additional child or adult in family

*for new OCS families w/ clay experience… add $5 for first time
*for new to clay families… add $10 to first time, $5 to next 3 times

-includes 2 lb of clay, firing and glaze, (1lb xtra with family price, or addt’l family person).
-after you have glazed your first projects at Reach, a fee will not be charged when you are
only glazing or trimming leather dry projects made at Reach and not finishing or starting new
clay pieces.
-fee will be charged if student works on forming clay pieces, even if he/she is using clay from
previous session, also glazing and trimming, or if glazing/trimming projects made outside of Reach.

SPECIAL FOR “BIG BROTHER/SISTER” PAIRS
(and other “official” youth mentorship pairs): $15 for the pair… even on the first visit to
Open Clay Studio

We have 4 electric pottery wheels, one electric kiln, a slab roller, assorted clay tools.
We have two different high fire clay bodies and an assortment of glazes.
-Children under 10 must register with an adult at family price – whether or not
adult makes anything with clay. Price for young child will be reduced to individual rate
at teacher’s discretion.
-Participants are expected to clean up and put away materials and equipment before leaving.

clay, glazing, and firing fees for outside work

Just glazing (pieces not made at Reach)...... studio fee applies ($10 - individual,
$15 - parent with one or two kids under 18).
($15/$20 if you did not purchase your clay at Reach)

Additional Clay … ………...… $1.50/lb

KILN FIRING CHARGES per item not made at Reach)
even if you used left over clay from OCS, or glazed pieces not made at Reach
This includes 2 firings… bisque and glaze firings

Example:

One KILN FIRING (whether or not you fill it)……………………$15

KILN FIRING price is DOUBLE if you’re not an Open Clay Studio participant.
(participant = at least 4 paid visits to OCS)

Reach is committed to keeping prices as low as possible for students … fees for the open clay studio
help Reach cover staffing, supplies, utility and maintenance costs for the kiln
and Reach space and equipment.
