Open Studio for Fiber Artists (new and experienced)– Surface Design on Cloth

Age 14 - Adult
Saturdays (about one per month from Sept - May), 12:30 – 4:30

FEE SCHEDULE FOR EACH 4 HOUR SESSION:

First time participants…….………………………………...$35
includes cotton and silk cloth for 2 - 5 small sample projects. Workshop will cover structured activity related to a scheduled topic or topic of choice by participants..

Repeat participants (second session and beyond)……$15
Students can bring their own pre-washed 100% cotton, linen, rayon or silk cloth, or purchase cotton or silk at wholesale from Alice. Small projects please.
Learn, experiment with or practice different techniques for layering patterns and color with dye on silk and cotton during these 4 hour sessions in Alice Brinkman's studio space above Reach.

Cost of “normal” auxiliaries (dye and fixatives, etc.) is included in fee. However, there may occasionally be an additional supply charge for extraordinary supplies such as silk screening frames and special chemicals, resists or pigments. Limited scholarships available for teens who need financial assistance.
